The Emergency Departments at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) have joined the growing list of Ontario hospitals adopting the new provincial electronic Canadian Triage & Acuity Scale (CTAS) system, more commonly referred to as ‘eCTAS’

The Capital Plan Development Task Force would like to thank all those who attended the March community information sessions and/or took the time to respond to a feedback survey about the building design options. A total of 140 responses were received.

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is the first hospital in Simcoe Muskoka to dispense naloxone kits from our Emergency Departments to patients presenting with an opioid crisis.

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s Capital Plan Development Task Force continues to work through Stage 1 of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care capital planning process with a focus on having two hospitals for Muskoka and area in the future. That’s a hospital in Bracebridge and a hospital in Huntsville with 24-7 emergency departments, surgical services, and inpatient care including obstetrics and intensive care supported by core diagnostic services at each site.

The Task Force received an update on the community engagement plan for presenting the building design options to the public. Task Force members provided feedback on the community presentation that was given at each of the six information sessions the week of March 4-8.
