Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is seeking applications from community members who have been a patient or a family member of a patient at either of the hospitals and want to partner with MAHC to improve the care experience.
Since 2017, MAHC has had a Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) that provides the organization with advice and recommendations on matters where the patient perspective is vital to advancing person-centred care.
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is hosting a virtual recruitment fair on Saturday, May 7, 2022 to recruit caring professionals to join our hospital team in a variety of positions and care areas.
Anyone interested in virtually dropping in to the recruitment fair between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. is required to pre-register by Thursday, May 5, 2022 including submission of a current résumé at www.mahc.ca/jobfair/.
Ontario Health has recently expanded eligibility for COVID-19 PCR testing for symptomatic and asymptomatic people with defined criteria that has been updated on the Bracebridge Assessment Centre webpage at www.mahc.ca/COVID-19testing/.
Generally, the guidance is prioritizing for molecular testing those at the highest risk of COVID-19, by including, for example, all symptomatic people aged 70 and older and all people who are immunocompromised.
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC), in consultation with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, has declared the COVID-19 outbreak on East Wing at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) Site over.
The outbreak lasted three weeks, and through outbreak management protocols including testing, 17 patient cases and six staff case were attributed to the outbreak in total.
This is a joint message from North Simcoe Muskoka (NSM) Region’s Hospital Chiefs of Staff and Medical Officer of Health.
The level of COVID-19 in the NSM region is on the rise.
April 1 marks the start of a new fiscal year for Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare and a new operating budget for 2022-2023.
Thanks to advancements in stroke care processes and strong partnerships with key partners, patients across the region now have better access to EVT (endovascular thrombectomy) screening at both hospital sites through formal pathways.
EVT is the newest standard of care for ischemic stroke where highly-specialized stroke care teams can thread a guidewire and mechanically remove the clot from the brain in appropriate patients.
Visiting to East Wing at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) Site has been suspended after the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit placed East Wing under unit-specific COVID-19 outbreak status on March 29, 2022.
Testing of patients and staff is occurring as part of outbreak management protocols, and enhanced cleaning practices are underway to limit spread.
Get involved in your local hospital by submitting your application to join the skills-based, community-oriented team of volunteer directors at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) as a board member or a committee appointee member of a standing committee.
Annually, the Board, through the Nominations Committee, identifies vacancy requirements and conducts a recruitment drive in advance of the Annual General Meeting typically held in June.
We, as leaders in Ontario’s health-care system, recognize every person has been impacted by the pandemic. We thank them for the sacrifices made over the past two years to protect our health-care system and its lifeline, health-care workers.
