Planning for the Future

After considerable analysis and extensive consultation with stakeholder groups, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is in the process of examining changes to the proposed health system model in the lead-up to a Physician engagement session on Wednesday night.  Potential adjustments include increasing the number of beds in Bracebridge and exploring the possibility of continued labour and delivery in Bracebridge.

MAHC is proud to have a distinguished Board of Directors overseeing our strategic direction and decision-making. With decades of experience in leadership, governance and health care, this esteemed group of volunteers dedicate hours of their time each month to support high-quality, patient-focused care in Muskoka and region.

Over the past several weeks, MAHC has received questions and inquiries about how the Pine Street location was chosen as the preferred location for the Bracebridge site. The purpose of this update is to provide clarity around the process and decision-making.

The following weekly update is aimed at keeping the community informed as we continue our work to develop the best healthcare system of the future for everyone we serve.

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is sharing an update on the commitment to take the time needed to reconsider the hospital redevelopment proposal presented during a series of community meetings in January and February. Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) has quickly organized a second meeting in Bracebridge to take place on Monday, February 12, 2024 regarding the hospital redevelopment proposal.  This second meeting affords an opportunity to those who were unable to attend the previous meeting due to capacity challenges..

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is relocating the Made-in-Muskoka Healthcare Community Chat in Bracebridge on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 to the Bracebridge Sportsplex Auditorium at 110 Clearbrook Trail. 

As hospital redevelopment continues to evolve, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is sharing the details of the proposed Made-in-Muskoka Healthcare system, a different model of care for the future that positions Muskoka’s new hospitals to enhance the quality of local healthcare and bring new services to the area and beyond the walls of the hospitals.
