Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is pleased to distribute the January 2025 edition of the Muskoka Health Matters Community e-Newsletter.
In consultation with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, a confirmed enteric outbreak has been identified in a specific area of the Huntsville Hospital. As a precaution, enhanced infection prevention measures are in place, including temporary visitation limits, modified patient movement, and additional protective equipment for staff and visitors in the affected area. These measures have been put in place to support a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, and to reduce the risk of further transmission. Care continues as planned, and the situation is being actively monitored in close collaboration with public health partners.
Masking is mandatory when interacting with any staff, patients or visitors within the hospitals, and/or when in a patient space/environment, including patient's room or a waiting area.
