COVID-19 Update: During COVID-19, prepare for your imaging appointment with our instruction sheet.

Support People: As we try to limit the number of non-essential people in the hospitals, we regret that support people are not permitted to attend with a patient except for special circumstances where a support person is necessary.

The Diagnostic Imaging Department provides a full range of imaging and therapeutic services to hospital patients, community residents and people vacationing within the region.  These services help to identify medical conditions and disease, and assist in developing the best course of treatment.  Over 70,000 exams are performed each year.  The imaging departments at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) work closely with educational institutions to provide clinical placements that train the next generation of Medical Radiation Technology and Digital Medical Sonography students.

The Diagnostic Imaging Department uses PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) technology.  This digital system means health care providers can access digital images and reports 24/7, and information can be shared across locations.  Patients benefit from more accurate and timely diagnosis, faster treatments and reduced wait times.
