Statement re: ONA CCAC Members' Strike

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) has been advised that the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) members of the Community Care Access Centres (CCACs) are on strike effective at midnight, January 30th.
Although the labour dispute has nothing to do with MAHC or its ONA members, MAHC hospital sites in Bracebridge and Huntsville may be targeted as picketing sites by striking ONA members who work at the CCAC.

Increased Wait Times Expected January 16-19

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare will experience a planned downtime event impacting our information technology infrastructure that will most likely lead to longer-than-normal wait times and other delays at our sites.
The downtime, which will help upgrade our systems as we prepare our sites for a new Electronic Health Record, will impact both hospital sites, starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 16 until approximately 8 a.m. on Monday, January 19.
