According to Statistics Canada, there are 2,000,000 Canadians - or one in six people - who live with a disability.  The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act legislation ensures that organizations, including hospitals, have policies to ensure everyone can access their services.  The goal is to create provincial accessibility standards and to obtain universal accessibility by 2025.

Our Role in Accessibility

At Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare, we are committed to our community and as providers of service to the public, we want to make sure that everyone who lives, works and visits here can access our services if they need them.

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare has Accessibility Policies and an Accessibility Plan as well as an Accessibility Committee focusing on access to care.  The Committee is comprised of representatives from our interdisciplinary health care providers and the community.

Alternate Formats

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is committed to providing documents upon request in the most appropriate accessible format.  What is an accessible format?  Essentially, an accessible format is an alternative to standard print.  It may include electronic formats, large print formats, and/or audio formats, for example.  Any document found on this site is available in a variety of accessible formats upon request.
