Prenatal Clinic

The Prenatal Clinic at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare provides complete prenatal care for women with low-risk pregnancies from the early onset of pregnancy to birth and afterwards.  This experience is designed to be as comfortable and convenient for you as possible.  Your experience begins with a friendly volunteer who will book your appointment, and continues with complementary parking, courtesy of the Prenatal Clinic doctors.

Women from South Muskoka and the surrounding areas will benefit from interacting with a dedicated team of physicians and Registered Nurses.  Their ongoing presence in the clinic means you will have a familiar face during your labour and delivery, and your postpartum stay. Consultation is available with the team of obstetricians in Orillia, if needed.

Special Instructions

Please feel free to bring someone with you to your appointments.  Ensure you set aside at least one hour for your first visit to the clinic.  Part of the visit includes a thorough medical history and complete physical.  You will also meet with both the nurse and doctor. Blood work is drawn and tested at the Dynacare Lab in Bracebridge, with no appointment needed.  Please make sure you do this early so results are back in time for your next appointment.

A dating ultrasound may be arranged for another appointment, booked through Diagnostic Imaging.  Read more information about what to expect during your pregnancy ultrasound.

You will be asked to provide a urine sample at all appointments.  We will also check your weight and your blood pressure.

Your spouse, partner or any other support person is welcome to attend your clinic appointments.
