Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare has two outpatient Oncology Clinics, one at each hospital.  The service is provided in a compassionate, pleasant environment by Registered Nurses who are experienced and certifed as Oncology Nurses.  The clinics also provide care for infusion treatment and transfusion.

Patients needing chemotherapy are initially referred by their physician to the North East Regional Cancer Centre in Sudbury or the Royal Victoria Hospital Regional Cancer Centre in Barrie.  After your initial assessment with an Oncologist at one of either of these partner centres, you may arrange for Systemic Chemotherapy and/or ongoing Supportive Oncology Care closer to your home at one of the two MAHC sites.  Please ask your oncologist for details.

Systemic Chemotherapy is performed at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site. Assessments and ongoing Supportive Oncology Care is offered at both MAHC sites. Supportive Care consists of Nursing Assessment and follow-up, PICC Insertion and Discharge, PICC Dressing Changes, Port Flush, Laboratory Work, Pump Disconnect.
