Christine Featherstone

Christine Featherstone holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts - Photo Arts from Ryerson University as well as Voluntary Sector Management with the Schulich School of Business at York University. Ms. Featherstone spent her professional career in a number of executive positions including President & CEO of ABC CANADA Literacy Foundation, National Executive Director for Girl Guides of Canada, and Executive Director for Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario.

Ms. Featherstone brings significant governance experience, holding positions such as Founder & Chair of the Board of Directors for the Peter Gzowski Foundation for Literacy as well as Founder & Board Director for the Canadian Association of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. In addition, Ms. Featherstone has served as a Board Director for the Muskoka Lakes Township Public Library, Community YWCA of Muskoka, St. Andrew's Church Heritage Trust Fund, Visiting Homemakers Association - Home HealthCare, and Board Director & Chair for both the Bloorview Children's Hospital and the Bloorview Children's Hospital Foundation.

As a cottager on Lake Muskoka near Port Carling for over 30 years, Ms. Featherstone decided to retire early and build a home on the site of her cottage. She now enjoys the pleasures of Muskoka - living year-round with her husband. She enjoys gardening, cooking, entertaining, local music and theatre, and is a member of two book clubs and two Probus clubs.

Since joining the MAHC Board of Directors in June 2013, Ms. Featherstone has served as a member of the Governance Committee, the Quality & Patient Safety Committee, Chair of the Audit Committee.  Currently, she is serving as Chair of the Governance Committee, Chair of the Nominations Committee and a member of the Executive Committee.
