Administrative Professionals

Each year, administrative professionals are recognized for their skills and loyalty - attributes almost every office depends upon. Administrative Professionals Day is held annually during the last full week in April and celebrates and raises awareness of administrative professionals and their valued work.

At the hospitals, these individuals include Executive Assistants, Finance and Accounting staff, Human Resources staff, Payroll Clerks and Schedulers. 

Introducing Christine Loshaw, Executive AssistantChristine Loshaw is a familiar face in Administration.  She has worked at the hospital for 30 years in a variety of positions, starting at Switchboard.  As an Executive Assistant, Christine provides administrative support to two senior directors, as well as day-to-day assistance to the leadership team.  She is always willing to participate in major projects and lend a hand.  Last year, she received a Board Award of Excellence for her many contributions to MAHC.  "I love my job and my integral role that contributes to our commitment to provide quality, patient-centred care.  I'm thankful to work in an environment that is empowering and respectful and I'm very proud to be part of the MAHC team." 




Introducing Haydee Traviss, Accounting TechnicianHaydee Traviss is all about numbers.  Since she started working in the hospital's Finance Department in 1997, Haydee has held various roles from payroll clerk to accounts payable and accounts receivable.  In her current position as an Accounting Technician, Haydee is responsible for all OHIP billing and statistical information, and is working to improve MAHC's statistical reporting. In her spare time, Haydee enjoys camping, fishing and skiing and eventing with her horse Flyen Ryen.





Introducing Paula Bildson, SchedulerPaula Bildson's is a familiar voice on the phone to most of the nursing staff at the hospital.  She joined MAHC in June 2012 after trading a career in the travel industry to pursue a new challenge as a Ward Clerk. Last May, she became a permanent fixture in the Scheduling Office where she is responsible for ensuring the nursing units are appropriately staffed to provide safe, high-quality care.  Beyond the usual scheduling of shifts and calling out for absences, Nurse Scheduling staff also ensure checks and balances in payroll reports, and schedule orientation and mentorship for new nursing staff.  Paula enjoys canoe trips, hiking, snowshoeing and gardening.  In 2017, Paula became an Executive Assistant.




Introducing Marta LongCustomer service is a big part of Marta Long's portfolio and is embedded in all that she does at MAHC in the Business Office. She recently took on the Accounting Clerk role, and in this position Marta keeps financial processes running smoothly by handling the full cycle of Accounts Receivable. She works with several departments and has been a champion of a project to internally improve the process around semi-private insurance billing. Marta was born and raised in Montreal, has lived and worked in Europe as well as Banff, and can speak four languages. She has three sons including twins and spends plenty of time at the hockey arena.




Introducing Sandy HarrisSandy Harris is a new face in the Business Office at the hospitals. Previous administrative experience working for home health care companies led Sandy to join MAHC in 2015 as a Patient Registration Clerk. The knowledge she gained there has been helpful to doing her best in her latest role to capture revenue in the Finance Dept., helping patients with the necessary forms associated with semi-private insurance billing. Sandy may not be treating a patient's health concerns, but feels like a valued part of a team working to provide the best possible hospital experience. Passionate about rescue dogs, Sandy competes provincially and nationally as an amateur dog handler in agility.




Introducing Lori TreadwellLori Treadwell is a Human Resources professional who takes pride in watching her colleagues grow both professionally and personally. For just over 10 years, she has been part of a small, but amazing team who work to create a strong and diverse workforce at MAHC, while also supporting staff from recruitment to retirement. Benefits administration is also part of Lori's core HR functions. She coordinates the annual volunteer appreciation barbecues that celebrate the 300-plus Auxiliary members at our hospital sites. She is also part of the Team Building Committee and is a big supporter of hospital events in the community. Lori enjoys baseball, golf and loves to travel.
